C O R P O R AT E E D U C AT I O N G R O U P 5 "Friends of Dorothy" – LGBTQ+ 101 The goal of this session is to raise your awareness around issues relevant to the LGBTQ+ community and enhance your ability to act as an ally. What you will learn: • Define key terminology associated with the LGBTQ+ community. • Distinguish between biological sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. • Identify health disparities and legal challenges that exist for LGBTQ+ people. • Recognize the importance of inclusive language. • Articulate ways to utilize ally skills to support your LGBTQ+ colleagues. Increasing Intercultural Competence to Drive Team Performance In this session, you will explore various models for understanding intercultural differences, applying them to team challenges and real-life scenarios. What you will learn: • Recognize the impact of culture on communication. • Utilize selected models to help understand cultural differences within the team. • Identify strengths and weaknesses of various cultural frameworks. • Assess where your team falls across various behavioral scales. • Role-play real-life scenarios involving cultural "asymmetry." Lead "Like a Girl" The 2014 campaign for Procter & Gamble's Always brand sparked conversations all over the world around what it means to do something "Like a Girl." In this session, we'll explore the unique challenges and opportunities that women encounter in the workplace. What you will learn: • Distinguish between biological sex and gender. • Describe how gender-role stereotyping can impact expectations of women leaders. • Recognize internal and external factors that may hold women back as leaders. • Identify skills and abilities unique to you as a leader. • List concrete steps you can take to empower women at your organization. Leveraging Diverse Thinking to Drive Innovation This course focuses on the benefits of embracing a diversity of perspectives and experiences when working in teams, specifically to promote idea generation and creative problem solving. What you will learn: • Articulate the intimate connection between critical thinking and creative thinking. • Apply various problem-solving approaches to real-life challenges. • Leverage different tools and techniques to generate divergent and convergent thinking. • Employ selected techniques and models to enhance the quality and robustness of your decisions. • Integrate creative and critical thinking to engage in problem-solving challenges.
