Session 4: Growing and Flexing Your Influence (3 hours) In this highly interactive session, we will use a trusted framework to explore a five-step model for influencing others. We will examine the importance of planning, asking, and listening in the end-to-end process of influencing. Working through real-life scenarios in role-plays, you will practice applying these new skills to positively influence others up, down, and across levels of power and authority. Topics: ■ Power and Authority ■ Reading Your "Audience" ■ Eliciting Unmet Needs ■ Enhancing Your Credibility ■ Role Play and Skill Practice Key Takeaway: At the end of this session you will be able to select and practice influencing skills to positively influence others up, down, and across levels of power and authority. Prework for session 5 Session 5: The Arc and Art of Feedback (3 hours) Regardless of one's role in an organization, giving and receiving feedback is a critical part of growth and development. In this session, we will demys- tify the process of delivering candid, constructive feedback, while activating key insights from brain science to enhance the process. We'll explore sev- eral frameworks for giving and receiving feedback, building your skills through scenario work and role play. We will also examine the importance of asking powerful questions on both sides of the feedback process. In examining the connection between feed- back and performance, you'll improve your ability to give (and receive) feedback that encourages growth and engagement. Topics: ■ Feedback: What it is and What it is Not ■ Why the "Feedback Sandwich" Doesn't Work ■ Having a High-impact Feedback Conversation ■ Scenario Work and Role Play Key Takeaway: At the end of this session, you will be able to leverage a proven model to prepare and deliver feedback with confidence and competence. Program Conclusion The program concludes with 60 minute 1-1 coaching session (optional). Participants receive targeted feedback and finalize their action plans to successfully "launch" into the next phase of their careers. Individually, participants will discuss with their managers their key learnings and what opportunities they have to apply their new knowledge into their work.
