All 10 things have less to do with the technical side of the job (business management, project management)
and more to do with the people side of things (communication, conflict management, motivation). And rightly
so, for if you focus on the people, the technical side will get sorted out.
Start with building your communication skills, since everything flows from there. Practice expressing yourself
and listening really well. Do this in your daily interactions with people until it becomes second nature to you.
It may be tough at first, but it does get better with time and practice. Then, select areas from the list that are
most in need of attention, and work on them.
It is possible to excel as a manager by following the advice of people who have gone before you and have
learned valuable lessons from the mistakes they have made along the way. And someday you may very well
