C O R P O R AT E E D U C AT I O N G R O U P 7 1 Lean Certification — Gold Level CEG's Gold Level Lean Certification Program consists of six days of training and a 50-question Gold Level Certification Exam, and requires the selection and implementation of a Lean Project and a Kaizen Event Project. Lean Fundamentals, an intensive four-day course, gives participants a practical, hands-on, learning- by-doing experience applying Lean methodologies in a simulated environment. Participants will be able to: • Explain Lean principles. • Define waste in an organization and opportunities to eliminate waste. • Identify a value stream and define improvements. • Build basic skills in continuous improvement and related tools. • Review process flow and identify flow rates and bottlenecks. • Practice the implementation of mistake-proofing. • Define kaizen events. • Develop your personal toolkit to implement Lean in an organization. Kaizen Foundations, a two-day course, provides individuals with an awareness of the philosophy and the kaizen approach and tools. Effectively applying kaizen philosophy and tools can significantly improve value-added productivity and reduce waste and associated costs. Throughout this course, participants will have the opportunity to apply concepts and techniques in a practical, hands-on, learning-by-doing experience in a simulated environment. Participants will be able to: • Gain an understanding of kaizen philosophy and the importance of creating a con- tinuous improvement culture. • Describe kaizen goals and guiding principles. • Learn a kaizen problem-solving approach and ways to employ it at your organization. • Develop a kaizen toolkit. *The Gold Level Certification Exam is administered within 5 business days of completion of the program. The exam consists of 50 questions and is open-book. A passing score is 70%.
