Before the Program DiSC® behavioral Assessment (30 min) Learning Sessions Session 1: Intentional Communication (4 hours) Communication is the foundation skillset from which all other interpersonal skills build. In this session, we will use the DiSC® framework to explore how your personality impacts your communication preferences. We'll investigate the priorities, stressors, and motivators that map to various DiSC® styles, giving you insight into how to better communicate and connect with others. Topics: ■ The Goal of Communication ■ Tailoring and Targeting Your Message ■ Exploring Your DiSC® Report ■ The Four Basic DiSC® Styles ■ Personalizing Your Report Key Takeaway: At the end of this session you will be able to identify priorities, stressors, and motivators that map to various DiSC® styles, enabling you to communicate more effectively with others. Prework for session 2 Session 2: Manager as Coach (3 hours) An important part of a manager's role is to em- power and develop their team members to reach their full potential. Rather than simply giving orders, a manager-coach guides employees, pro- viding support and feedback to help them grow both professionally and personally. This session will focus on using effective coaching behaviors together with a framework for coaching conver- sations that avoid defensiveness and promote joint problem solving. Topics: ■ Critical Coaching Behaviors ■ Setting the Foundation ■ Exploring the GROW Model ■ Summary and Next Steps Key Takeaway: At the end of this session you will be able to en- gage with team members using coaching behav- iors that use three levels of listening, focused en- quiry and leverage a proven framework focused on collaborative discovery and growth. Prework for session 3 Session 3: Developing People and Team Culture (3 hours) If a message is to have impact and meaning, a leader's effectiveness is dependent on not only knowing what to communicate, but knowing how to communicate. In this session we'll explore how observable behaviors often map to different DiSC® styles and how this can affect and influ- ence how individuals receive and respond to communications. Topics: ■ Review of Everything DiSC® ■ Guess the DiSC® Style ■ Inferring Others' DiSC® Styles ■ Leading and Managing Using DiSC® ■ Scenario Discussions Key Takeaway: At the end of this session you will be able to apply your knowledge of DiSC® styles to improve the effectiveness and intentionality of your communi- cation with others.
