Leveraging Diverse Thinking to Drive Innovation This course focuses on the benefits of embracing a diversity of perspectives and experiences when working in teams, specifically to promote idea generation and creative problem solving. What you will learn: • Articulate the intimate connection between critical thinking and creative thinking. • Apply various problem-solving approaches to real-life challenges. • Leverage different tools and techniques to generate divergent and convergent thinking. • Employ selected techniques and models to enhance the quality and robustness of your decisions. • Integrate creative and critical thinking to engage in problem-solving challenges. Responding Productively to Microaggressions at Work In this session, you'll learn to recognize various types of microaggression and respond in ways that drive discovery and connection. What you will learn: • Define three types of microaggression. • Describe productive responses to microaggressions. • Explain the importance of separating intention from impact. • Identify real-life examples of microaggressions at work. • Leverage a growth mindset to drive accountability. Stand by Me: Building Ally Skills at Work This session is designed to build ally skills in the workplace to create and sustain a culture of inclusion. What you will learn: • Define key terminology related to allyship. • Explain the connection between belonging and engagement. • Distinguish between acting as an ally and "performative allyship." • Explain how bystander behavior contributes to bias and exclusion. • Identify concrete actions that allies can take in addressing bias and discrimination. • Brainstorm inclusive actions an ally could take in real-life scenarios. Tackling Unconscious Bias in the Workplace The goal of this session is to enable you to recognize and mitigate the impact of unconscious bias in the workplace. What you will learn: • Define key DE&I terminology. • Connect DE&I concepts to business benefits. • Describe various "costs" of exclusion. • Recognize the connection between the brain's hard-wiring and cognitive biases. • Articulate the impact of bias on non-dominant groups. • Identify ways to mitigate unconscious bias.
